Roger Dale Jackson, age 94, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022, at Dublin Retirement Village Memory Care, Dublin, Ohio. Roger was born April 3, 1928, on Hunting Run Road in Pike County, Ohio to the late Ewell and Bertha (Bolt) Jackson. He was the youngest of five children all who have preceded him in death. Cecil Douglas Jackson, Maurice (Edna) Jackson, Marvin Jackson, Bessie (Walter) Aliff. Roger graduated from Stockdale High School, Stockdale, Ohio, Class of 1945. He then joined the United State Air Force in 1946. After an Honorable Discharge from the USAF, he attended The Ohio State University where he graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Education (1951). Roger worked as a lab supervisor with Goodyear Atomic for over 35 years where he won the Goodyear Spirit award in 1982. Roger married the love of his life V. Janice Croley at the South Park Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio. They married on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1952. They were married for 69 years. He was the loving father of three children Ken, deceased, (Jana) Jackson, Jackie (Keith) Lehman, and Joan (Alen) Buckeye. He was a loving Grandpa to seven grandchildren, Brent (Anne) Lehman, Randy Jackson, Bethany (Derek) Lehman, Bonnie (Brendan) Buckeye, Jeff (Abby) Jackson, Heidi (Andrew) Scott, and Toni Buckeye. He was also Gpa to three great grandchildren Lillian, Rosalie and Levi and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Roger was an Ohio State fan and had season tickets to the football games for 63 years. He was a Boy Scout leader and earned the scouting award of Silver Beaver. Roger and Janice loved to travel all over the world, going on African safaris, trips to Brazil, Ireland, England, India, and more. A memorial open house will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 1:00PM - 3:00 PM at the O.R. WOODYARD Northwest Chapel, 2990 Bethel Rd., Columbus, OH 43220. There will be a time to share memories of Roger at 2:00PM.
