Roger L. Klamfoth, age 81, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his residence in Groveport, OH. Roger was a lifelong resident of Groveport, OH. He attended The Ohio State University for 3 years where he studied Animal Sciences and was a huge fan of the Buckeyes, both basketball and football. Roger's professional career began with his passion for Appaloosa Horses. His own business was raising Appaloosa Horses in his hometown of Groveport. He was later hired by the State of Ohio to oversee the equine portion of the Ohio State Fair for 5 years, which led to him serving on the Board of Directors for APHC (Appaloosa Horse Club) for 2 years followed by serving as the CEO of the APHC in Moscow, ID from 1992-2004. Roger retired back to Groveport to spend time with his newborn twin grandchildren. His greatest honor was being inducted into the Pedigree Livestock Association Hall of Fame, an honor which had only been given to 18 previously. Roger was a humorous, strong-willed, intelligent man that made up his mind and stuck with his decisions. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Mary Grace Klamfoth; longtime friend and colleague, Larry Hill. Roger is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Jean Klamfoth; children, Jay Klamfoth and Jeff (Angie) Klamfoth; grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Koss, Emily (Colby) and twins, Brock and Amber Klamfoth; great grandchildren, Maria, Rebecca, Elijah, Gabrielle, Elena, Isabella, and Everlee River; brother, Norman (Beth) Klamfoth; numerous lifelong friends, including the amazing staff that worked with him at the APHC. Roger's family encourages memorial donations to Kindred Hospice in his memory.
