Rose Marie Harden born April 23, 1933 to Joseph A. Lemelle and Elouise Bernadette Guillory in Mallet, Louisiana. Rose grew up on her Father's ~100-acre farm where she was the second youngest of 12 siblings. Her Mother passed when she was 10 years old leaving her father and older siblings to raise her and other younger siblings. Her love for family and her love for her siblings was real. All the men in our family would joke about the love the "Those Sisters" had and to never mess with them. Rose left Louisiana and traveled around as an Air Force wife before settling down in Columbus, Ohio raising five children. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Harden, son Carl Jefferson, Ralph Jefferson and daughter Paulette Harden. Rose stayed at home raising her children and was an active community board member serving in the Southeast side of Columbus and Love Zion Baptist Church Ushers and Missions ministries. She always made sure they had food to eat and all bills were paid early. She loved children so much that she watched many nieces, nephews and grandchildren throughout the years. She also loved to cook. She could throw down on some Louisiana Cajun cooking with her specialty being Gumbo! Children and cooking were two things she absolutely loved to do. While raising her children and watching others, she always encouraged everyone to have a relationship with God. God was truly who she relied on and knew so very well. Her relationship with God shined through in her fellowship with others. She had mountains in life, with seeing three of her children off to rejoice in God's presence and surviving a house fire, but her faith in God never wavered! She prepared us all for this day! She showed us Strength, Love, Compassion and Faith. We nicknamed her Champ. She truly was a champ to us all. She fought her battles with Alzheimer's to the very end. She leaves behind a sister Gerri Belton, a son Dr. Henry Jefferson (San Bonita) daughter Paula (Ahmed) Saani and Linda (Kevin) Richey. Five Grandchildren, Chris (Natalia) Toni, Brittany (C.J.), Maliya and Amira. Six great grandchildren, Jaide, Isaiah, Jalil, Kevin, Justin and Trey. A host of beloved nieces, nephews and special friends. Job well done, rest easy our Queen! We'll see you later
