Obituary

Rosina Schlecht, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at The Avalon of New Albany. She was born on May 22, 1938 in Weilau, Romania to George and Rosina Fritsch. Lived in Saltzburg, Austria until the family came to the United States in 1952. Lived on a farm in Texas before moving to Columbus, Ohio in 1955. South High School graduate. Worked at Franklin Federal, Columbus Business Service, and Franklin County Court of Common Pleas until her retirement. Active member and board member of Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church. Member, singer and office holder of the Saxon Club, Germania Singing and Sport Society and The Columbus Damenchor. Long time manager of the Columbus Kinderchor/Jugendchor. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, George; son, George Alan; her parents; brother, Michael Brunn; brother and sister-in-law, George and Katharina Fritsch. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Erich Gellner; grandson and wife, Michael and Ellie Gellner; granddaughter, Erika Gellner and her fiancé Josh Gregory; great grandson, Julian Gellner; nephews and wives, Georg and Trudy, Reinhold and Linda, Michael and Margit; several great nieces and nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at O.R. Woodyard Company South Chapel, 1346 S. High St, Columbus, from 1-3 pm. A Columbus Damenchor and Germania Damenchor service will take place at 3 pm, followed immediately by a service with Pastor Doug Warburton presiding. Private interment service on Monday, September 9, at Greenlawn Cemetery. Flowers are welcome and donations may be made in Rosina's memory to Capital City Hospice.
