Obituary

Ruth Alvina Kreitzburg, a loving mother and devoted member of her community, passed away on October 17, 2026. Born on November 21, 1928, Ruth dedicated 25 years of her life as a cook for the Reynoldsburg School District, nourishing countless students. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, as a founding member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she generously shared her time and spirit by teaching Sunday School for many years.

Ruth's legacy of love continues through her cherished family. She is survived by her sons, John Kreitzburg and Brian (Levonda) Kreitzburg, and her daughters, Carol Cordial (Dave) and Denise Zizek. She was a beloved grandmother to Justin Kreitzburg, Aaron Kreitzburg, Nathan (Brittany) Atwood, April (James) Garske, Tera Atwood and friend Jay Sauls, Tosha (Jun) Catolico, Chrissy (John) Martin, Brandon (Kylea) Kreitzburg, Zachary Kreitzburg, Michelle (Jay) Young, and Todd Kreitzburg. Her family circle extends to 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kreitzburg, her daughter, Linda Atwood, and her son-in-law, Bob Zizek.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on her 98th birthday, November 21, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Messiah Lutheran Church fellowship hall.

Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
