Obituary

Ruth Ann Singleton, age 80, passed away on October 5, 2025. Born April 10, 1945 in Pikeville, Kentucky. Ruth is preceded in death by husband, Harold E. Holley, mother, Louise Damron Nolen; sisters, Barbara Ramey and Mae Grubb; and brothers, Don Nolen and Carl Ed Nolen.

Ruth is survived by daughter, Libby (Tim) Kerns, son, Master Chief U.S. Navy (Ret.) Skip (Teresa) Singleton; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Charline Holley, Arlene Russell, Geneva Burkart, and Patty Hale; many other relatives and friends.

Ruth had unashamed and unapologetic love for Jesus Christ. She was a woman of remarkable kindness whose greatest joy was loving and guiding her children. Her smile—gentle, radiant, and full of grace—made everyone she met feel seen and special. Those who knew her often said her warmth felt like the love of Jesus Himself. She lived her life with quiet strength, selfless devotion, and a heart open to everyone who needed comfort or encouragement. Though our hearts ache with her passing, we find peace in knowing her love will continue to guide and protect us, just as it always has.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 9th at 2 pm at Obetz Cemetery. Family will host a celebration of life following graveside service.
