Sandra "Sonnie" Jean Bush, age 87, passed away on February 16th, 2026. She was the daughter of Earl and Dorothy Wells, and sister to Jim Wells and Marsha Harty. She was a mother to Debbie Carter, Howie Shirey, and Angie Turley and blessed with eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

After retiring from a career as an executive secretary from Columbus State Community College, she volunteered at the VFW and enjoyed bowling, Euchre, camping, and sharing a good laugh with anyone. Sonnie will be remembered for her loving, energetic, and social spirit as well as her love of cats and anything red. In her later years, Sonnie would say that she planned to spend her afterlife dancing on top of the clouds in a red dress and red heels, reunited with her beloved cats Fluffy, Peekapoo, Simon, and Bella.

Friends and family are invited to attend her showing and/or celebration of life.

The showing will be Friday 2/20 from 4-6pm at O. R. Woodyard Co. Funeral Home at 2990 Bethel Rd., Columbus, OH 43220, with service to follow at 6pm.

The celebration of life will begin at 1pm on Sunday 2/22 at the VFW Post 3761 at 2155 Reynoldsburg Baltimore Rd NW, Baltimore, OH, 43105.
