Sarah "Sally" A. Fields, age 90, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Sally was born on October 8, 1935, in Jacksonville, Ohio. Retired from CSX with over 21 years of service, member of Obetz United Methodist Church for over 60 years, past Matron of Groveport OES, now merged with Triangle OES for over 60 years, Past Queen of Daughter of the Nile and member of Ladies Oriental Shrine, and a sighted member for Welfare of the Sightless. Throughout the years she taught Sunday School, Women's Bible Studies, Cooked and Baked many meals for the church, and was currently serving as the Financial Secretary for the church. Her faith and family were the core values in her life. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved deeply, forever holding tight to the memories of her husband, Oliver, until the day she would see him again. Sally is preceded in death by her mother, Merle Carter; father and stepmother, Emmett and Margaret Carter; brother, Phil Carter; sister, JoEllen Carter; stepbrothers, Ralph Norris and Harold Norris; husband of 63 yeas, Oliver "Ollie" G. Fields; infant daughter Linda Darlene. She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Wes) Steele and Karen (Dennis) Dotson; grandchildren, Paul (Jen) Steele, Cara (Joe) Downard, Caleb Dotson; Jessica (Dan) Hogan, and Cassie (Stephen) Lauderdale; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; brother-in-law, James (Sue) Fields; sister-in-law, Jane Harder; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until time of Daughters of The Nile Service at 7:00 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. In Columbus, OH, Funeral service will be held at Obetz United Methodist Church, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Vijay Buck officiating. Interment at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Obetz United Methodist Church, 1781 Obetz Ave. Obetz, OH 43207, or Mount Carmel Hospice.
