COLUMBUS, OHIO —R. Scott Eitel passed unexpectedly on Thursday, July 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Scott was born July 8, 1964, in London, Ohio to the late Robert and Louise Eitel and survived by his siblings, Pam (Rick) Kelly, Robert (Tobi) Eitel, Jodi Eitel, and Jeremy (Kristina) Eitel, and many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Madison Plains High School, he moved to Columbus, OH and began a 30-year career working for the State of Ohio from where he retired in 2013. In retirement, Scott enjoyed traveling with his friends and spending time with his family.

He was an amazing artist and as he grew older his passion for all things creative blossomed. It is not an exaggeration to say he could do anything. From gardening, baking, planning celebrations, decorating, installing a patio, DJing, to fixing computers, he was always there to help anyone who needed his expertise.

He was a loyal, selfless, compassionate man who cherished his family and friends without limits. His legacy continues as the Eitel name lives on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 3pm to 5pm at O.R. Woodyard Co. Funeral and Cremation Services – South Chapel, 1346 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio, with a celebration of life, officiated by Reverend Ralph Hux immediately following.
