Obituary

Sheila M. Stewart was born in Columbus, Ohio September 4, 1953. Sadly, after battling a chronic illness for nearly 2 years, Sheila peacefully passed away on October 30, 2024 in Lancaster, Ohio at the age of 71. She is survived by her husband, Donald Stewart. Sheila was a lifelong Columbus resident, attended South High School and recently retired from her job of 45 years at Staber Industries. She was extremely hard working, determined & dedicated to all she set out to do. She used to enjoy bowling, and was a part of several leagues and teams at Piketon Lanes. Fishing was a hobby she inherited from her father and she used to enjoy. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and Ohio State football! She enjoyed country music, was free spirited and loved her family very much. Sheila was the daughter of Raymond & Esta Moore who preceded her in death. Sheila was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Preceding her in passing were her grandson Chucky Maynard and siblings Wilma (Alvin) Dudley, James (Jane) Welch, Vernon (Marsha) Welch and her nephew David Dudley. Sheila is survived by her husband Don Stewart, daughter Bridget (Wiseman) Maynard, son-in-law Chuck Maynard, grandchildren Jeff & Kalani Maynard, great grandchildren Daisy, Emmarie & Luna, stepchildren Rodney & Stephanie Stewart, sister Virginia Moore and many nieces and nephews. Sheila will be deeply missed and forever loved. In her honor the family asks that you consider donating funds, goods or time to a charity that assists those battling cancer. It is never goodbye, but see you later Mommy. We will carry you with us each and every day, you taught us to be strong in this life but also to always help those that you can who are in need. We will live each day with your love & values within us.

Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2024 from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery.
