Sherry Lynn Evans, age 65, was born on February 15, 1959, in Huntington West Virginia, to the late Roy Lee and Carrie (Maynard) Marcum. Passed away Thursday October 24, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Hospital, Grove City.

Sherry spent her career as a 411 operator and later at the training center for AT&T formerly (Ohio Bell and Ameritech) for 29 years. She was passionate about helping others and loved all of the children in her life; often stepping up to raise stepchildren, nieces and nephews alike. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved cooking for her family and friends.

In her free time she loved fast cars and the freedom of open roads, traveling, camping, cruises, and country music concerts, especially Alabama. Her zest for life and a good time was contagious and she will be deeply missed by those she's left behind.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Carrie (Maynard) Marcum; sisters, Lorene Meddings, Sally Wallace, and Margaret Gussler; brothers, Eddie, Albert, Tommy, and Joe Finley, Billy Maynard, and Glen Marcum.

She is survived by her husband James Evans; son, James A Evans; daughter, Carrie LeAnn (Gabriel) Henderson; brothers, Lester Finley, Sonny (Shermalee) Finley, and Steve Arthur; sisters, Linda K (Jim) Vansickle, and Brenda Parsely; grandchildren, Riley, Ellie, and James Evans, along with a host of other stepchildren and grandkids that she viewed as her own.

Visitation for Sherry will be Tuesday October 29, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at O.R. Woodyard Co. South High St. Chapel 1346 S. High St. Columbus, Oh. 43207, where services will be held Wednesday October 30, 2024, at 10:00 am. Pastor Tim Wolmack officiating. Interment Beckett Cemetery.
