It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Carter, age 86. She departed this life at home surrounded by family.

Born on July 3rd, 1938, in Kentucky, Shirley lived a life filled with kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her warm smile, generous heart, and faith in God that guided her through the joys and challenges of life.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her home was always a place of comfort and laughter, where stories were shared, and memories were made. She had a passion for gardening, reading, cooking, crafts, and most of all her dog Abby.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Paul Carter, children Lisa (Chris) their children Victoria (daughter Sophia) Alex (Brandi) Katherine (Keith) and Joyce, her children, Amy, Christen and Tonia. Her siblings Linda and Buddy, great-grandchildren and great-great children, who will carry her legacy of love, kindness, and faith forward in their lives. Preceded in death by her parents Lucille and Arnold Bayes and her grandson Nicholas Ward

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Tuesday May 20th at Heritage Free Will Baptist Church 575 Obetz Road Columbus, Ohio 43207, with visitation beginning at 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Funeral will be the next day at 11:00am. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share in remembering a truly remarkable woman.

Shirley's presence in our lives was a gift, and while she will be dearly missed, her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
