Shirley W
Frost
Jan 11, 1939 — Jun 7, 2023
Shirley W. Frost (Pooch), age 84, passed away suddenly on June 7, 2023. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 11, 1939, to Joseph and Ruby (Sharp) Thomas, and she was the eldest of 5 children: 3 girls and 2 boys. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ruby Thomas, her husband John Frost Jr, her sisters Judy and Jane Thomas, and her son Thomas Frost. She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Daniel) McConahay, son Michael (Lynda) Frost, granddaughter Ashley (Robin) Belcher, granddaughter Brittney (Brandon) Sims, grandson Aaron McConahay, brother Joseph (Patty) Thomas, brother Richard (Betty) Thomas and honorary grandson Austin Hodges.
Shirley, better known as Pooch, worked in the housekeeping industry in her later years. She spent her early adult years raising her children and then helped with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She was a nurturing person, always taking care of everyone, literally. Her grandchildren's friends and their family called her Pooch, to them she was their grandma as well and she loved that. Talking to them on face time, and visiting when they would stop over. She absolutely loved it; it tickled her pink. She had a great sense of humor, and we would all tease each other. She had the cutest little laugh which made her face and eyes light up. She was so appreciative of everything she received. It was always fun and enjoyable to see her face when she opened up gifts, she acted just like a little kid on Christmas morning.
She enjoyed quite a few things; watching wrestling and crime shows with her family, watching Star Wars movies with her grandson Aaron, dancing, owls, diamond art, Iron Man, TCU Horned Frogs, Michigan University, Dallas Cowboys, and her main man, Elvis Presley, to name a few. She was the best cook. She still made Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner every year even though she was in her 80's. If you wanted anything, even a bottle of water, she'd make you stay seated and get up and get it for you. That's just how she was, a caring, compassionate, giving, kind, loving, nurturing, thoughtful person. The best wife, mom, grandma, and mother-in-law anyone could ask for. And although a big part of our lives is gone here on earth, she will forever live in our hearts and memories. We love you, Pooch!
