Rookstool
Jul 27, 1943 — Sep 16, 2026
Canal Winchester
Sondra “Saunnie” Rookstool, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on September 16, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 83.
Saunnie was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 27, 1943, to Edna Maxine “Macky” Gold (Tom) and James Robinson (Mildred). She was a graduate of Whitehall Yearling High School. Over the years, Saunnie was employed by several different organizations. During the last half of her career, she worked for the State of Ohio and ultimately retired from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
After retiring, Saunnie and her husband Jim moved to Michigan where they lived for 10 years. They enjoyed lake life and visiting many of Western Michigan’s sites. They also ended up with a rescue Bantam rooster which made them the talk of the town.
Saunnie always had a soft spot for animals which is how she ended up with a pet rooster. Over the years there were many rescued or adopted dogs and cats, a rescued pony and goat, and the care and feeding of many injured animals that found their way to her door.
Saunnie is survived by her husband Jim Jimenez, daughter Kim Neutzling, sister-in-law Karen Gonzales, stepson Joel Harris (Brittany), their children: Hayden, Evan, Jaxon, Landon and Karston, and many cousins in the Seymour, Wodzisz, and Moreland families.
Friends and family may call between 11:00am and 1:00pm at the Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home - Groveport Chapel, 587 Main St., Groveport, OH 43125 on September 22, 2026. Interment will follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Saunnie’s life.
The family would also like to thank all of the caregivers who worked with Saunnie making her last years joyful and comfortable. Their kindness and dedication are greatly appreciated.
