Susan L. Pope age 73 of Columbus, passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 1, 1950 to the late Leland and Josephine Carver. Survived by her life long partner, Charles E. Pope Jr.; children, Charlie (Tonya) Pope of Barnesville, Brandi Pope of Columbus, and Jamie ( Tom LeFever) Katterhenrich of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kyle Pope, Haley ( Nathan) Smith, Connor ( Ashlynn ) Pope, Keaton Clagg, and Addison Katterhenrich; soon to be great grandchild, Ivory Sue-Ellen Michelle Pope; siblings, Janie ( Bill ) Lemaster of Johnstown, Terry Clark of Columbus, Kelly (Rod) Abbott of Carroll, Kim Gautreaux of Whitehall, and Joe ( Shannon ) Carver of Athens; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Susan was retired from Xerox/Field Publications, but fostering was her passion. In her 30 years as a foster parent, she opened her home for over 50 teenage girls, including: Jenny Ditmars, Natalie Smail, Nikki Marshall, Marisa Cook, Shanna West, and Melanie Francis, whom she remained very close to over the years. Susan took great pride in the lasting relationships and memories created under her roof over three decades of service.

Visitation will be Friday June 14, 2024 11am – 1pm, with funeral following immediately at 1pm at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home, 587 Main Street, Groveport.
