Thomas A. Ouanlavong, 43, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on August 15, 2026, at Mount Carmel East in Columbus.

Thomas was a kind-hearted and genuinely caring person who always saw the best in everyone. He had a goofy sense of humor and a way of bringing laughter into the lives of those around him. If he found a part of a movie that he thought was hilarious, you could be sure he would make you watch it—sometimes more than once—just so you could laugh along with him.

One of the greatest loves of Thomas's life was his son, Chance. Being a father was deeply important to him, and he loved his son with all his heart. Thomas was proud of Chance and cherished the time they shared together. His love for his son was a special part of who he was, and Chance will forever carry his father's love and memories with him.

Thomas had a passion for working on cars and enjoyed spending time learning, fixing, and working with his hands. He also loved cooking and took great pride in preparing food for the people he cared about. Not every dish came out exactly as planned, but that never stopped him from trying—and sometimes making everyone laugh about it afterward.

Thomas will be remembered for his loving heart, his humor, and the way he accepted people for who they were. He had a gift for finding the good in others and making people feel comfortable being themselves. His laughter, goofy personality, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Thomas is survived by his parents, Pam Ouanlavong and Bounsouan Ouanlavong; his brother, Bruce Ouanlavong; and his beloved son, Chance Ouanlavong, along with extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though his time with us was far too short, Thomas leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a love that will continue through his son and everyone whose life he touched. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A funeral service for Thomas will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. SOUTH CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St, Columbus, OH 43206
