Thomas "Duke" Shepard III, age 59, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his residence. Born December 10, 1953 in Columbus to Julia Darfus and late father, Thomas Shepard II. Tom was an avid musician, enjoyed camping and family card games. Devoted employee for Best Courier for over 20 years. Preceded in death by sister Linda Kovanda and brother Jerome Shepard. Survived by mother, Julia (Herb) Darfus; daughter, Angela (Richard) Althoff; siblings, Scott (Marcia) Shepard and Christina (Tony) Shepard; longtime companion, Holly Spalty; nieces and nephews, Cory, Chris, and Kim Kovanda and Nic Shepard; many cousins and friends.
