Verna Lue Hall, age 72, peacefully entered her eternal home in glory on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Born Verna Lue Newsome on November 26, 1953, in Williamson, West Virginia to the late, Lossie and Mable Newsome; she was the fifth of ten siblings. Verna grew up in Martin County, Kentucky and graduated from Warfield High School, class of 1971.

After graduation, she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she met the love of her life and husband of 51 years, Noah Hall. Together, they raised three girls, Kristin, Katrina, and Karin.

Verna was a dedicated, loving wife, who stood faithfully beside her husband through every season of life - building a home rooted in love, faith, and commitment. As a mother, she was selfless, strong, and endlessly giving - always putting her girls first. Guiding them and her sons-in-law with wisdom, patience, and unconditional love. She was their comfort in tough times, biggest supporter, and steady foundation.

Vernas love only grew deeper as a grandmother. She was known as Grandma and Memaw to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She found her greatest joy in spending time with them, and she created a home full of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories; making every grandchild feel special and deeply loved. Through her gentle guidance, prayers, and the simple moments spent together, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in each of them.

Verna was a devoted Christian, faithful servant, and prayer warrior. For many years, she was a member of Dewberry Community Church of God, where she taught childrens Sunday School. She also attended Frebis Avenue Church of God, and later became a member of Judah Tabernacle, where she loved to praise and worship the Lord with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Hall; father, Lossie Newsome; mother, Mable Newsome; brothers, Floyd Newsome and William (Wewa) Newsome.

Survived by her daughters, Kristin Crank, Katrina (Jack) Reese, and Karin (Joey) Blackburn; grandchildren, Mallie Steele, Katelynn Crank, Ashton Reese, Aden Reese, Aubrey Reese, Addison Reese, Aspen Reese, Dylan Blackburn, Cerenity Blackburn, Josiah Blackburn, and Zander Jones; siblings, Ruth (Bascom) Crum, Sally (Ted) Floyd, Norma Spaulding, Ethel Chafin, Minnie (Tom) Copley, Mary (Edgar) Fletcher, Lossie (Rhonda) Newsome Jr.; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, and close friends who were like family all whom she loved with her entire heart.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Pastor Jeff Leslie officiating.
