Virginia D. Myers, 95, of Groveport, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. She was born on May 14, 1930, in Logan County, Ohio, to the late Kenneth Lee McNaghten and Beulah Ridenour McNaghten.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Edwin L. Myers, her brother, Frank McNaghten, and her parents.
Virginia was a proud graduate of Groveport High School and spent many years serving her community as the attendance secretary for the Groveport Madison Local School District. She was deeply devoted to the Groveport community and the state of Ohio throughout her life.
She was an active member of the Groveport Garden Club, the Columbus Metropolitan Daylily Society, and the Groveport Food Pantry for over 25 years. At Groveport Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a faithful member for more than 65 years, Virginia enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in Women of the Church.
Virginia had a special joy for learning and embraced computers and technology with enthusiasm. She loved creating newsletters, researching and documenting family genealogy, and staying connected with friends and family through email. She was also known for thoughtfully sending cards to loved ones for birthdays and holidays, always making sure others felt remembered and cared for.
Virginia loved baking with her grandchildren and took great joy in sharing her wisdom and love with her family. She was sharp as a tack, with a heart of gold, and was known for her many creative talents including sewing, baking, and gardening. She also had a deep love for birds, music, and taking wonderful care of her home. Her warmth, generosity, and steady presence will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Myers; son, Gary (Wanda) Myers; and daughter, Sandra (Steve) Cohen. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Katie Miller (Kara Sherman), Nicholas (Kristina) Myers, Stephanie Myers, Angela Myers Miles, Michelle (Sherrod) Butler, Jen Cohen, and Christy Cohen. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Cayden, Chase, Carter, Jada, Jenevieve, Isa, and Rhea.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Groveport Zion Lutheran Church, followed by a 12:00 p.m. service celebrating the life of a truly remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Greater Groveport Food Pantry and Groveport Zion Lutheran Church.
