Virginia "Ginny" Vasilakos, age 90, passed away March 5, 2017. Born June 6, 1926 to the late Artemis and Anastasia Kakas. She is preceded in death by husband Pete "Tyke" brother George Kakas and sister Sue Bouzounis. Ginny is survived by son, John Vasilakos and daughter-in-law, Beth (Kinch) and granddaughters, Kristen and Lauren, all of Woodbury, MN; her daughter, Anna and son-in-law, Harry Ruska, grandson, Jimmy and granddaughter, Maria of Powell, OH; sister, Berdi Kakas of Dayton, OH; brother, Chris and sister-in-law, Karen Kakas of Perrysburg, OH; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren - each held a special place in her heart. She will always be remembered for her genuine kindness to others, sweet personality, and loving smile. She was an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church and Philoptochos in both Dayton and Columbus. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 555 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio.
