Walter Franklin "Bud" Bakenhaster, age 94, of Columbus and Ashville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Bud is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (Wilson); sons Daryl and Donald; siblings Bill, Paul, Geneva (Hunt). Norma (Bricker), Charlie, and David. He is survived by his wife J-Anne (Roese), son, David, daughters Debbie and Denise, daughter-in-law Carol, and brother Ronald; grandchildren Dreama (Scott) Noel, Derek, Dustin (Sarah), Ashley (Will) Snow and Megan (Derek) Dudley; great-grandchildren, Julia, Olivia, Damon, Nathan, Ian, Eliana, Jaxon, Lukas and Morgan; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Bud was a proud United States Air Force Veteran and a beloved member of the Good Shepherd Community Church. He was retired from White-Westinghouse, and worked many years at the Defense Distribution Depot. Visitation hours will be on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00, and the funeral will be held at 11:00 on Friday, March 28, 2025. Both will be held at the Good Shepherd Community Church, 210 Obetz Road, Columbus, Ohio, Pastor Gary E. Kirk, officiating. Memorial donations in Bud's memory may be sent to the Good Shepherd Community Church, 210 Obetz Road, Columbus, Ohio 43207 or to Honor Flight Columbus, P.O.
