William Nolan
Gibson, Iii
Jun 26, 1958 — May 28, 2025
William N. Gibson III, affectionately known as "Billy G," passed away on May 28th, 2025, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by many of his siblings. Although his fight was brief, Billy G left a lasting impression on the nurses and staff, even going so far as to hand out gold stars to those who went above and beyond. Born to Caroline Gibson and William N. Gibson Jr., Billy G was a master carpenter by trade, a skill he honed throughout his life, having learned the craft from his father. He was a true motorcycle enthusiast, finding joy in rebuilding and customizing motorcycles. Beyond his mechanical talents, Billy G was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family, and he never met a stranger. He had a unique ability to see potential in everything and wouldn't let you throw anything out. He would tell you that he took a different path than most and got to ride with hundreds of the best people on earth.
Billy G is preceded in death by his grandparents, William N. & Sylvia Gibson and Effie Peck, and his uncles, Bob Gibson, David (Linda) Gibson, Frank Jarvis, and Paul Jarvis. He is survived by his children, Sean (Danielle) Shearon and Amber (Michael) Silamianos, and his grandchildren, Alayna and Orion Silamianos. He also leaves behind his mother, Caroline Gibson (Richard McDowell), his father, William (Laura) N. Gibson Jr., and his siblings: Tami (John) Mascari, Kelly Hoy, Frank Gibson, Rock (Kim) Gibson, and Nolan "Stoney" Gibson. Billy G will be deeply missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 5th, from 12:00PM until time of service at 2:00PM at the MYERS-WOODYARD Co. Funeral Home, 587 Main St., Groveport, OH 43125.
