William L
Scott
Jul 22, 1932 — May 11, 2024
William L. (Bill) Scott passed to the Church Triumphant on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Grove City at the age of 91. He was born in Newtown, Ohio, on July 22, 1932. He is predeceased by his parents William and Dorothy, and brothers Ronald and Dallas. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served honorably in Korea. Upon being discharged from the Air Force he returned to Ohio and married Kathryn Zirkles on July 15, 1955.
Bill was employed by Rockwell International until his retirement, after which he worked for Ohio Health as a courier for many years. Bill was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Obetz, Ohio where he served on Council, as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Kathryn, his son Jeffrey Scott and daughter Lisa Tufts. He is also survived by grandchildren Madison Tufts, Nikki Martin and Angie McKibbens and four great grandchildren, Taryn, Ty, Preston, and Aubry. He will be greatly missed by many close friends who will treasure his memory including young Luke and Petra Lara and their mother Elizabeth, and longtime dear friends Linda Larger and Ralph Metzger.
Bill was a friend to everyone as he never met a stranger. He was humble, kind, wise and never failed to put the comfort and needs of others ahead of his own. Gifted with the heart of a servant, surely the first words he heard in Heaven were "well done, good and faithful servant". Bill was a coffee connoisseur and was always ready to brew a pot for you or head out to one of his favorite coffee shops.
