William J. Willis, age 89, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Scioto Community. He was born on July 28, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late F.W. and Dorothy Willis. William retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years of service and was veteran of the Korean War. Served in the Ohio Defense Corps and retired from the State of Ohio. He was a member of the VFW post 3424, Non Commissioned Officers Association, Central Ohio Swim Officials Association and USA and College Swim Officials Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth and his sister Helen Costoe. Survived by his sons, Mike (Sandy) and Scott (Kate) Willis; daughters Karen Runyons, Jaye (Steve) MacPherson; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; companion, Betty White; many nieces, nephews and good friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15 from 4-8 pm at the O.R. WOODYARD EAST CHAPEL, 2300 E. Livingston Ave. where the funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment Walnut Hill Cemetery.
